Large Bloom Vase

This large bloom vase is one of my favourite forms to throw. I usually work in bright colours, but this piece was a chance to explore a darker palette and to play with the crater-like texture created by the glaze. The vase was thrown in Tucker’s Bright White cone 6 porcelain . Then finished with layers of black underglaze and Dark Magma on the outside. Inside, a combination of Spectrum glazes adds contrast and brightness.
